Good day everyone, hope your all having a great weekend!

I have 2 questions;

First is what is the ft/lb on the bolts holding the 3rd member chunk to the housing? I cant seem to find it.

Second... I have just pressed off the left hand studs from one of the axles and went to put in the brand new ones but the new ones are too small and just spin! Am I missing something? I thought they were all the same gauge? I'm sure many others have done this but I havent found any references to this problem. Solutions?

Thank you in advance for your insight

The studs are too small. I had that problem with my 7 1/4 rear. They make different sizes of studs. For mine they have the ones for 9" and 10" the 10" ones being larger. I had to get some ones for 9". I'm sure it is the same deal for any rear.

Take one of the left hand studs with you when you go to the auto parts to make sure that the knurl size and thread guage is correct. Yes, there are different sizes, most early A bodies have 7/16" threads, where the newer cars had 1/2", and a larger knurl correspondingly. Good luck with your project!! Geof
