Just picked up this 72 Gold Duster. I was walking around some trails by my parents house. There was a clearing and I could see a bunch or dead cars sitting in there neighbors property. Caught the front end of the car. The next time I saw him I talked to him about it. He told me that it was a duster he bought eight or so years before and it had just been sitting. He said it was rusty and just overall to much of a project. He had plans to "rat" it out and drive it but never did anything to it. He told me that he bought the car from some guy that claimed it to be his mothers car. He told him it only had 50,*** original miles. I went over to check it out and after being there for maybe five minutes he asked if I wanted it. He told me I could have it for $200. I told him sold. We towed it across the street to my parents house where I began to wash the car. after it was fully dry I just used some cheap hand polish and waxed the car. The pictures will explain the rest....My plan is to make this my daily. Some tweakers broke in and stole somethings and cut some wires. So anyone with some wiring experience, I would greatly appreciate your help.

Thanks man, the last picture was after the second time of hand polishing it. Still trying to get all of the dead paint off.

great score!!!!!! ask the questions here and you will get lots of good sound advice.

I ssume the car had been repainted somewhere in its life, or as the p o said, maybe granny kept it inside all this time!!!! shows what can be done cleaning and polishing old paint!!!!!

Thanks everyone, as far as I am aware of the car hasn't been resprayed. Its all original paint. Basically my plan for this car is to make it cool and be running and driving under $500. It's going to kinda be a roadkill car. But im going to keep the stock slant six in it for now.

I didn't catch if it is running yet? not sure where you are from, but unless you are in the dessert climate, things you will want to consider is: gas tank and pickup, of course, brakes, which might consist of replacng the MC, all the hard lines and hydraulic hoses, brake hardware inc wheel cylinders. remember those 9 in brakes are not modern stoping equipment!!! flushing the radiator and maybe engine, belts, hoses, starter relay, and fixing those obvious cobbled wires. safe exhaust, safe tires.
also keep in mind this is a 50 year old car, low mileage is great, but time takes it toll! at any rate, sounds like you made a tremendous good buy! keep us all informed. good luck!!
