2019 9th Annual FABO NHRA "Pick 'Em" Game - Are You Ready For Some NITRO?!!

-
Here's your Tuesday before the event reminder for the 40th annual Arby's NHRA Southern Nationals at Atlanta Dragway Park in Commerce, GA.
Professional classes at the Southern Nationals start Friday, May 3rd.
This may be an 'iffy' event due to forecasted weather. Current forecast is calling for a high temp of 80F on Friday with thunderstorms from 9AM to 2PM followed by light rain until 5PM, and then more thunderstorms through midnight. The Saturday forecast is for a high temp of 77F with thunderstorms from noon to 2PM followed by light rain until 8PM and then a short period of thunderstorms. The Sunday forecast shows a high temp of 79F with light rain from 5AM to 6PM. This very easily could see the final eliminations run on Monday - if they can get qualifying in.
The current entry list shows:
18 Top Fuel
17 Funny Car
17 Pro Stock Motorcycle

Pro Stock will again not be racing at this event. Pro Stock will return at the Virginia NHRA Nationals mid-May.

Interesting thing I noticed on the nhra.com entry list for Top Fuel is that Leah Pritchett's entry is again listed as "DSR Top Fuel Team" rather than a sponsor name.

Get your picks posted!
But make sure your driver is entered to race at the Southern Nationals - there's a big name that's skipping this event for business reasons.

Wow Cuda20..3 weeks in a row!!

As hinted at on both nitromater.com and competitionplus.com, the "Crew Chief Carousel" is spinning again.

In return, Mike Green is headed to JFR, and is expected to tune Top Fuel rookie Austin Prock.

I'm amazed at the NHRA. They say they're going to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Pro/ Stock because they are an important part of the NHRA at the same time they are doing everything they can do to kill the class. Hypocrites.

Have patience - I hope to get the Virginia Nationals results posted in the next couple of day.
It's been a very busy time lately. A friend of mine from Australia arrived last Thursday so I've been busy with him and our Inland Mopars car club annual all-Mopar car show was last Sunday so the weekend was full of car show prep on Saturday and car show on Sunday.

Finally! Results from the 2nd annual NHRA Virginia Nationals...
