I purchased the 1969 Dodge Dart in June 2020. Previous owner had engine completely rebuilt with approximately 50 miles on the rebuild. He found a Charger that he wanted for his collection and put the car up for sale. I met with the engine builder prior to purchase to discuss and confirm the build. Unfortunately, receipts were not maintained. The information listed is what he recalled during the rebuild. I received a lot of great input from members of this forum on the engine specs that I listed. Only going by the discussions with the engine builder. I later installed the Aussiespeed intake, Dutra Dual Headers and Four-barrel carb. The engine now has approximately 500 miles from the re-build. Car taken to shows and Sunday drives. The engine oil has always been Brad Penn with zinc.
For those who think a 225 can’t make power are mistaken. The Dart with this engine has been a blast to drive. Very fast for a six cylinder. My Mopar buddies have driven the car and have always been very impressed. With the 2 ½ exhaust and large cam, most people think it is a V8 until I open the hood. The car gets a lot of attention at car shows. Since I was a kid, my cousins and friends’ dads had 340 Mopar’s. This has always stuck in my mind as I often rode with them. Made the recent decision to upgrade the car to a 340. Yes, it is an expense, but as one person told me: “You will be dead for a very long time; so, enjoy your time while alive.” The sale includes the Quick Fuel Carb, New Champion Slant six radiator and 7 blade fan. Looking to sell everything, prefer not to separate. If this needs to be shipped, Fastenal shipping has had the best prices that I have seen. Will drop off at closest Fastenal location. You would need to pick up from a Fastenal location. It will be difficult to ship the exhaust due to the length. Will remove the cross-member section from the engine to provide easier shipping; unless someone really needs to have this included. I am located in Hazleton, PA 18201 and am often in the Northwest part of PA. Cranberry, PA 16319. If interested, I can drive a reasonable distance to meet or drop off the motor. Can meet at Spring Carlisle (April 19-23) or Mopar Carlisle in July (14-16.
Having trouble uploading the video of the car running with this engine. Happy to send video through phone.
Asking $3100.00 Will consider reasonable offers. 570 861-2507
