245/60/15's or 235/70/15's

68 Dart GTS 340 automatic with shift kit few engine mods nothing crazy, performer rpm intake Hughes engine cam edelbrock 750 performer, stock exhaust manifolds 2 1/2 inch TTI pipes. Changed gears to 3:55 gears. Do I stay with the 245/60/15's which are very tight to my wheel lips or go with the 235/70/15's. I know the taller tires will effect my final gear ratio a little. Just looking for some opinions
 
235/60/15" is way more common, but might still be tight.
70-series tires are luxury car tires. Big and bulky. Looks 'crap' to me on small cars.

225/60 will probably fit better.
 
I'm pretty sure the 235-70-15 will hit the front of your wheelhouse-too tall in other words. On my 67 dart with 8 1/4, 15X7 wheels, 225-70-15, I have less than a 1/2 inch from the tire to the front of the wheel well. Measure 3 times buy once!
 
I did exactly that change on my 69 Swinger as the 245's rubbed on uneven surfaces. I put on 235 70 r15's and the issues went away. I do have an 1/8" spacer in front hanger for added clearance. The taller tire gives a slightly larger contact patch, also reduces final drive ratio which was welcome with my 408. I will look for my photos, both are posted somewhere on this site. I mounted and balanced the 235/70/15's today. Put them on the car and have about 5/8 or a little more between the tire and the front of the wheel lip. I did pick up some more room between the top of the tire and the wheel lip especially on the driver side. With the 245/60's I couldn't get my little finger between the tire and wheel lip now I can actually get all my fingers between them.
