I have these numbers embossed on the inside of a 273 Commando OEM piston
2465658
2465661
What do these numbers refer to?
I'm measuring the piston width above the top ring land at 3.6942.
Thanks

Thanks, I figured that.....
I thought they might be measurement numbers
Nothing comes up to exactly identify those specific numbers.

2465661 is the "set" number, i think

the secondary number might be bank identification, see if you have a corresponding -657 to your -658 which would indicate left side and right side.

or it could be a batch number. or it could only have relevance to the manufacturer such as a mold number or a production code.

no matter, it's a 273 hi-po piston either way.

Those are the format for factory part numbers. And those are factory pistons — aftermarket replacements have a shallow central hole from the lathe. Or at least my TRW hypereutetic ones do. I've seen it on others, though. But I don't know about the most common ones, from Egge.
