I am planing on geting the 273 adjustable rockers and summit pushrods from a member on here.Question will my comp hyd lifters work with the pushrods. The pushrods have the cup end and ball end.

Are the pushrods solid or do they holes for oiling? I believe you need the solid ones with shaft rockers. I may be wrong though since I've been messing with magnum stuff for awhile.

The hole lifters will work with adjustable rockers. You don't want holes in the pushrods though. Oiling is through the rocker shaft.

As far as I know, if you run hydraulic lifters you'll need different length push rods. The 273 adjustable rockers were used on solid lifter cars and the solid lifters are a different size than the hydraulics, so they take a different length.

This is 100% correct, the stock push rod length will NOT work and aftermarket pushrods are required. I just did this about 2 months ago and didn't realize that before, when the lifters pump up, the longer pushrod tries to hang valves open, it didn't run to good, Comp makes some, you could compare the length of them to the length of the FABO members.

Small block adjustable rockers with solid lifters use pushrods that are 7.5 inches long, adjustable rockers with hydraulic lifters use pushrods that are in the range of 7.25 to approx 7.4 inches in length.

This guy is soon going to be sick of me ,e mailing so many Questions.LOl.Well let see if he knows the size of the pushrods.

you can use 273 rockers with hydraulic lifters if you buy the correct pushrods...

comp should list two sets of pushrods for adjustable rockers...one for hydraulic cams..one for solid lifter cams....

the reason for the difference is the plunger is lower on the solid lifter then the hydraulic lifter.

I did not know this. Now I am wondering which ones are in the 340 I am going to start in a few days.

Anyone have both laying around and can post a pic?

Ok the seller says his pushrods are Summitt# 66420 lenght is 7.234 does this sound correct for the 273 adjustable rockers running hyd lifters.

Sounds about right, a little bit shorter than my Comp push rods that someone posted the p/n and length of but I'd say they should work. I think my Comp's were only like $60 so try and get em reasonably cheap and when you get them roll them on a flat surface to check for straightness.
