Gentlemen,

I was told by a experienced old tranny guy, that a (1967) A833 4 speed tranny, should bolt up to a (1966) 3 speed on the tree bell housing. Problem is, the bolt pattern is almost 3 inches off location from the bell housing, to the actual 4 speed transmission bolt holes. Anyone know what the issue is here, or am I dumb and stuck with a 4 speed tranny?:eek:ops:I was told to remove the 3spd from the tranny and find the casting number of the bell housing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Some 3 speed bellhousings do not have both the 3 speed mounting holes and 4 speed. Sounds like yours is drilled for just the 3 speed. Post an add for the bellhousing you need in parts wanted.

Gentlemen,

Thanks for the info concerning the 4spd hookup to the 3 spd without correct bolt alignment. I ended up getting a new bell housing from Brewer for cheap. Took care of my issues. Thanks again.
