Does anyone have a new Charger, Magnum, 300, or ram? I was wondering were the ECM is located on your cars. The pic below is of a new 300s enginebay. Is that little black box were the ECM and possibly the fuses are? If my battery doesnt fit in my enginebay with the 5.7 in it (in my 64 dart), i might have to move it to the trunk like in the 300s and Magnum (lx) cars. if i have to move it, i was thinking about putting the ECM in the area the battery was. If that black box in the pic is a fuse and ECM storage, i might just put it in the batteries old location. I think it would fill up the void left behind by the battery nicely.
OK, so "whats in the box"?

Thanks. By "in the cowl" do you mean inside the cabin up under the dash? Any idea what that black box is in the pic?

Your probably right, its maybe the abs controller, i hear they take up some room, so thats probably it. thanks for the link, also any idea were the ecm is installed on the Ram? Youve been very helpful. thanks.

You're welcome glad I could help. As far as the Ram goes I have never owned one so I don't know. On my old Dakota R/T it was under the hood on the passenger side.

What is in the pic is the FCM (the shiny piece in front) and the power distribution center which is relays and fuses. Or in this case (it's so hard to keep track these days with all the different models doing something different) I believe that is a TIPM. Instead of just a Front Control Module and a PDC it's a Totally Integrated Power Module.

This is also a "gateway" module which allows communications between different modules that speak different languages. There's CAN bus, CAN B bus, CAN C bus and CAN C diagnostic bus as well as LIN bus. These cars have about 20 modules or controllers on them.
