Hello All,

I am the Proud Owner of a Canadian Built 1960 Dodge Dart Pioneer 2DR Hardtop with the 313CID Polysphere V-8, Standard Transmission with a 8 3/4 Rear End.

I went out for a drive with the car the other day, checked the oil before I left it was 3/4 Full, did about 35KM, Oil light comes on, pulled over immediately, Oil level was on Add, checked for leaks no leaks. Topped up oil to full, then drove it home, lost 1/4 oil.

I did a compression test on each cylinder, Each Cylinder has 130PSI Dry, 135PSI Wet (teaspoon of oil down the cylinder) So Piston Rings are okay.

Im wondering if I should pull the cylinder heads, have them machined, replace the Valve Stem Seals & Head Gasket?

Any Thoughts or Ideas?? Greatly Appreciated :D

Are any of the plugs oil fouled?
The compression test numbers look good which means the compression rings are doing their job, the oil rings might be gummed up though.
The valve seals by now are most likely chopped up into little pieces and now living in the oil pump pickup so I'd pull the valve covers and take a peek if there is anything left of them. Generally changing valve seals can be done without pulling the heads but on a poly engine it's a major pain in the *** and should probably have the heads off because you have to remove the 5 head bolts to get the rocker shafts out which technically will require new head gaskets.

With that much oil loss on those few miles, you should have noticed the blue smoke going out the tailpipe.
IIRC theres no PCV on those early Mopes. Instead they have a road draft tube. You might want to check it for oil. I think she may be blowing out onto the road, at speed.

I think you might have been right, Engine bay is dry, no oil leaks, I changed the oil on the car, The old oil filter was plugged up and broke down, put fresh oil new filter, since that no more oil loss at all. This is very strange how this happened.
