Howdy. I seem to think I've read 318 and 360 have different mountings. Are the lugs cast onto the side of the block different? I have a solid mounted 360 using the front lugs on each side of the block but when we welded it all up I used a 318 block.
Cheers
Tony

I think the 318 lugs are spread wider apart on the block and the 340/360 lugs are narrower. this difference may be compensated for with some washers or a carefully crafted spacer. [at least thats what I remember when going from a 318 to a 360]

Yes - 273/318 mounts as cast into the block (the "ears") are different from 340/360. You need to space it or re-weld mocking up on a 360.

If you are ONLY using the two front lugs, you should be OK. They are in the same place on both blocks.
