318 block plate??

Pulling the slant six and putting in a 318 and 904 trans. Is there a steel plate that goes between the block and the trans on a small block or is it just an inspection plate? I don't see a plate on the slant six. Maybe I am just thinking about early Ford days before I was converted .

it is just a steel inspection plate to access the torque converter. thats cool though because tomarrow i am yanking out my six for a 318/727 in my duster.

No plate between the trans and engine block unless you have a Lakewood scatter shield.

Thanks . I couldn't remember. My quicktime bell housing for my T5 trans has a pretty hefty one. I yanked the auto trans outta my dart years ago and couldn't remember. slant coming out of the wife's project Dart.

That inspection plate goes between the starer and trans.
