318 Distributor

Cleaning up parts and assembling my 318 I noticed the Electronic Distributor
Has a Gap Adjusment.
News to me..now What should the gap be?
Same as a points or as close as possible without toching the rotating parts?

You need a .008" non magnetic (usually brass) feeler. I was amazed and suprprised awhile back to find that O'Really's have them in stock

Yep, .008" with a non magnetic feeler gauge. If you use a regular (not brass) feeler gauge the star wheel will be magnetized and the distributor will be rendered no worky.
