Okay folks me and my good friend are having a little argument at school because we are bored. Has anyone ever heard of bored over 318s over heating. I haven't heard of it but I could be wrong. Is it true once you build them up they over heat. Anyone have any opinions on this? I say no they don't but I could be wrong. I think it depends on the motor and person building it.

depends on the cooling system mostly - any liquid cooled motor can overheat if the system is flawed or not "up to the task"

If it overheats, it's not caused by the overbore.. except under some freaky, extraordinary circumstance..

More likely with a small block Chevy. Their blocks move all over the place when torqued up. If you bore one without the main caps torqued, the bottom of the cylinders goes oval, causing interference between the block and piston. Never seen a oversize 318 or any Mopar small block overheat without some other problem.
