I have a 72' 318 that is all stock except for the Edelbrock performer intake and 650 Edelbrock carb. I have new cap, rotor, plugs and wires. It starts up and drives fine until it warms up. Then it stalls when I hit the gas. Any ideas on what to check?

So there are no other symptoms correct? It only does it when hot? Does it just die like you turn the key, or stumble up and stall? Is the choke opening? Is the accel pump shooting fuel when you hit the gas?

Check for a bad vacumn leak or leaking intake. while chokes closed it will not get too much air and run with vacummn leak but when choke opens and throttle plate opens it may be too lean to run. unclip choke linkage when hot and slowly close choke. If it still runs fine you definitely have a vacumn leak.

It' has been raining everyday here. Tried it in the garage and did not die. I think it has to be in gear. I will look for vacuum leak Sunday if it's not raining.
