340 air cleaner (Fiberglass?)

So a guy I buy a lot of parts from has an air cleaner that looks exactly like a 70/1 340 air cleaner but its not metal, I think it's Fiberglass....

I'm guessing it's not factory but if it is Fiberglass, is it fuel resistant? Can Fiberglass withstand the heat of the engine?

It looks the part but I think someone is messing with me.

Anyone heard of such a thing?
 
Yes they did make fiberglass 70/71 repops. Yes they did make six pack repops. Yes some of them look good. Yes they will catch on fire and melt.

Yeah not a thing wrong with fiberglass. It can take high temperatures.
 
I am still looking for a fiberglass one if anyone has one. I welcome any opportunity to take weight off the nose of the car!
 
So this is an old thread, I had a few ask if I'd sell the fiberglass air cleaner, however I gave it away a few weeks after starting this thread because I didn't think it would be a high demand item.
