Hi,

Can you tell me what the actual displacement of this motor would be? Was told the 340 without oversized bore with 4 inch stroker kit was 416ci? I'm led to believe that displacement would be over 416ci now? Let me know what you come up with. Also what type of hsp torque would this make?

10.5:1 CR pistons
2.02 X code heads ported/polish
Eagle 4 inch stroker kit
Gear drive
Edelbrock intake
Holley 4 barrel double pumper
3 inch Headman header and 3 inch to tailpipes?

Thanks.

You don't give enough precise info to give a guesstimate. Just general perameters.

Do a search here.

Hey Cubsy! What are the heads flow specs, cam specs and style, what Holley? Since there's hundreds of different Holleys to choose
From.and what Edelbrock intake?
What Hedman headers are in use?

I thought it said .030" over....

Oh, there it is, it's in the title... ^^^^^^^

Too many unanswered questions here!

Ya it will be a 416 cid engine.
The hp is hard to guess with out all the details. One part can change the out come by 40hp.

Torque on the other hand is fairly easy most street or hot street engines are gonna be around 1.15-1.25 lbs-ft per cid so in your case 480-520. You can get more than that but where talking big heads, huge solid rollers, high cr and intake exhaust to handle it.

Hp on the other hand comes down to your heads and how much of the available cfm you are using. Again most street and hot street engines are gonna be 1.7-1.9 hp per cfm. So depending on your level of porting I'd say 425-475 hp. Depending on cam and combo.

Thanks for the explanation.

With stock bore (4.040") and 4" stroke it's 410 cu. in.

With .030" overbore (4.070") and 4" stroke it's 416 cu. in.

πr² x stroke = volume of 1 cylinder

I would stay away from the eagle stroker kit unless you are going forged . the scat kit is a better choice .

Technically, and every sanctioning body I'm aware of, says once you go past the whole number, displacement is the next whole number.

So.........technically speaking, the op's engine is 417 CID.

In math if the last number is 5 or more, you round up...

If the last number is 4 or less, you round down...

And the NHRA does it like that as well?

Nope. I don't know of any sanctioning body that doesn't round up if any digit in the first 5 is more than zero.

Of course for bracket crap and stupid comp/gas/street it doesn't matter. I just like to be a bit more accurate.
