I'm getting ready to install the oil pan on my 340 rebuild. My Fel-Pro gasket kit includes 2 cork side gaskets and 2 rubber end seals. The rubber end seals are anchored by rubber "nubs" to the oil pan. These two seals appear identical to me. Is there any particular way that they need to be oriented when installed (ie is there a front and back to each of these)

Actually there is an orientation to them, look closely, you will see that the "nubs" are different sizes, and they correspond to the holes in the pan that anchors the seal.

Hope this helps.

Shouldnt the "tabs" be trimmed as well?? Then a bead of RTV??
Correct me if im wrong, dont want to misguide you, but would hate for the bugger to leak after putting it all together.
Also make sure your oil pan has been "flattened" out where the bolt holes are.

I usually just pull the tabs through the holes with a pliers and then leave them. It would be easier to get to the bolt with it trimmed off....
