Hello all, New to the site so here goes. 1971 dodge demon, 340 not original. After a long few years of building this car it’s finally time drop the engine back in. I have been waiting for one of the final pieces that was on back order, a speedmaster harmonic dampener. I have noticed that the quality was not great but better than the old 50 year old stock unit so I figured I’d go with it.
After sliding the dampener on the shaft it is now sticking out 1/2 - 5/8 further then the stock one, which is throwing off my pulley alignment. I am unaware what years or different pulley variations that are available but what I need is either , shorter pulley to the v groove , or a longer pulley on the water pump but that will eventually chase its way to problems with the alternator alignment… is there something I’m missing or does it seem something was manufactured wrong from speedmaster? Thanks in advance and sorry for rambling
