Hi all,
I am completely lost and really need your help with my push rods for my 1968 Dart with 340 engine.
Based on what I read so far, I thought original push rod size is 7,5 inch long and 5/16 diamater.
In this FABO thread 340 push rod length dibbons mentions the correct size with 7.534 and 0.28
My old push rods are 7.513 and 0.28 with type C (in the picture) ends.
When I browse through different sites of summit, rockauto, hughes and so on they all sell 7.5 5/16 with ball end types (type H in the picture) as original for 340s from 1968.
Plus: I found an ad on eBay selling NOS push rods with the correct part number 2899567 also in size 7.534 and 0.28
FYI: I want to keep my original stamped rockers.
What now? I really dont now which new push rods i should buy. I already measured the size for correct lifter preload but I am not sure on diameter and end type.
I could not find an answer in another thread, but I do not think I am the first with this issue.
