I am trying to find out if this code means anything to anybody - 340 engine shows block number R045 - what is this engine?

1972 Plymouth Duster - 355 code car. It’s advertised on Facebook. I’m trying to determine if it is the original motor.

see fender tag.

E55 is the 340 code

That tag is for a Black 72 340 auto duster... buckets/consile car

To ID a block by casting numbers and stamped numbers, refer to this:
How to ID a Small Block Engine Block:
The stamped pan rail number should match the VIN number on the dash.
Make VERY sure that fender tag also matches the VIN. They're easy to swap and those screws don't look original.

Last digits of VIN do march the digits on the fender tag. I’ll check the website. Thanks !

Check radiator support and near speaker hole on package tray for partial vins.

I have to ask the seller to check the engine block to see if it matches.
