what do you have against the B&M flexplate? basically the only difference between the 360 and 318 is the weights welded to the 360 converter.

if not wanting to run the B&M flexplate then buy these and weld them on to the 318 converter and just be done with it. Mopar Performance P4120241 | Buy Mopar Performance Torque Converter Balance Kits at JEGS

as far as the two converters go you if you go that route make sure its for the proper trans.. in most cases a 318 had a 904 behind it and the 360 had a 727 behind it..

.

Why the change over from a 318 to the 360 Converter when you still using the 318 engine? I can't see any advantage to doing it. Stall speeds are about the same. Approximately 1700-2000 stall on both converters. Internal workings virtually the same on both converters.
Pop the weights off a 360 converter and you've got a 318 converter. We did that lots of times if a customer was in a rush and couldn't wait for us to finish up a run of converters for the 318.
904's (non lockup) found behind 360 engines 1975 -up.

I had the stock 318 TQ against the B&M flexplate. Also if the TQ is seated all the way in the tranny should it move around from side to side or up and down or should it fit snug without movement? because mine does move around and doesn't fit snug.
