what is the purpose of the 360 degree bend in the brake line after the master? I installed my line lock and tried to double flare the old line going to the distribution block (front breaks) and it failed. my question is when I try an re make this line do I need that full circle loop in the line or can i just do with out? (pass tech inspection)
the line would be a little easier to make with out it but if it accualy dose something or is required then i will try and reproduce it.

Thanks for the time and advice.

it is there for flex.....It gives some flexibility if the firewall/master cylinder moves some when brake pedal is pressed....I use a coffee can or similar cylinder to bend my line around for these....works pretty good....Are they necessary?? If the line is long enough probably not.....but if it is a short piece it doesn't hurt to have it

I jist wonder if I could fail tech with out it. my new set up goes, master, short line to line lock, line lock to distribution block.

Thanks for clearing up what its point is.

I don't drag race at track so I do not know their tech.....but I would think it would be OK to eliminate

Yeah that coil up could add a little extra weight at the drag strip too! LOL it's not needed for any safety reason just like others are saying it's there to soak up some vibration and stretching. Your probably going to be keeping a close eye on all your braking system on a weekly basis if your drag racing. That's there for people who drive their car for hundreds of thousands of miles without looking under the hood.

I believe they were made that way so that mass producing them to fit going down the assembly line wouldn't be a fit issue. That and as mentioned to take up vibrations. I have eliminated the loop many times when making lines.

I always thought the same as the above post. it was just so you could fit the line, stretch or srink it to the master...

Thanks! I may try and re make it as I have a very nice bender but it seems that loop should be in my short line between master and line lock, not after line lock to block?

I would agree, before the line loc. I've used various different things to duplicate the loop, Spray paint cans, large tool sockets, etc.

Thanks guys!

on a side note, I got to run against a BRZ subie today. Not sure how fast we were going but He was not winning...

Car should launch even beter with the two step and line lock...

currently launching off two step and foot...
