Most aftermarket rear entry shifter cables mount on the trans directly in the path of the stock 727 rear cooling line. I bought a length of 5/16 brake line from NAPA, 90 degree brass, and some straight flare fittings to re-route the line. I have a nice bender and flaring tool, I think it turned out halfway decent.

Winters or Cheetah shifter? I've got the Cheetah in the avatar and don't recall the direct interference. But maybe it got lost in all the other issues of my build!!

I want to redo mine but man it's tight.. did you do yours in 2 pieces? i bought "factory" lines but headers are in the way.. i did some bends and cheesy stuff to get them to work...

I have the same flare tool also.. thing is worth every penny.

Cheetah shifter. The straight fitting and line go directly where the cable mount is. Same for PPP shifters too.

Two pieces. I cut a repop line set and made my own rear section. Too many bends and angles for my skill level to do this in one piece. I don't think I could have installed a single piece line with the engine in place anyway.

yeah.. i did single piece.. when i redo it i will use the premade front and a compression coupler to the back half.

I used a flared union to make connection - 2nd post, 2nd picture. I flared the original rear line portion with a nut so I can use it if I ever go back to the console shift linkage.
