Hello, this is my first time here. I have a 68 Barracuda with no engine. I have acquired a 360 from a 1984 dodge van. I need to know what I can do without stroking it to make around 350 hp. I have a budget of around $1000. I have a set of "L" heads and an Edelbrock LD-340 intake from a 1968 340. I need to know if this will help or do I need to start over.

Thank you
Brad

what can you do? RESEARCH. look for numbers/stats on your parts and plug different combo's into a desktop dyno program and see what you get. sounds like you have a good start. are you going for a full rebuild or just some bolt-ons? i ask because your budget could get eaten up real quick if your motor needs lots of machine work. i built a 300hp combo for under $1000 but started with a REAL good condition low mile '77 360, only put new bearings in it, a cam, intake, carb and headers, cleaned up the stock heads with a good valve job and put it in the car. runs great, fun daily driver.
