Hey All:

Recently got this 360. Any ideas on horsepower?

1974 360
Bored .030
9.25:1 compression with .028 gasket

4 valve relief hyper pistons (10cc) .050 in the hole.

Comp Cams 270H hydraulic cam
(http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=CCA-20-214-4&autoview=sku)

587 heads with 2.02 intake valves

Weiand Stealth intake manifold

1-5/8 headers

I'm thinking of putting an Air Gap on it and choosing a better cam (like the Lunati 268 ).

Any ideas are appreciated.

325-340 @ the crank
step headers on either cam would pick up 10-15 hp

587 heads and pistons .050 down? That means you're really closer to 8.5:1. I think overall it would be a good package, and I'd use a plain RPM on it. They are a bit cheaper used and just as good. The 270 cam is pretty good, but I think you would have better torque and response with a modern grind like that XE268.

Sorry, forgot to include that the heads have been milled to 64cc. Checked them myself with the Comp Cams econo cc kit. I calculated based on that and came up with the 9.25:1.

They've got single springs with dampers and 10* locks with moly retainers too.

I've got a Kevko oil pan for it also.

Cool. Then I think you're doing fine. Depending on the tune and the machining, I'd expect somewhere around 350 hp from it.
