First off i'm not a mechanic, i'm a computer tech. Bought my duster pretty much done, has the 360 stickers on the side, so I expect its a 360, is there a easy way to confirm this, and once I do confirm this do you guys know the specs for the timing on a 360. A friend of mine is a mechanic, says he needs the timing #'s, its running badly. Once it gets warm its hard to start, and sometimes doesnt stay running.

Look on the drivers side of the block up behind the starter it will have the cast # there followed by the engine size. If you want to know what year it is that is cast in the passenger side near the motor mount.

14 to 16 degrees initial timing with vaccuum canister disconnected and pluged. No more that 36 degrees total timing all in at 2500 RPM.

I agree with Mad Dart. Watch out though, on a stock type distributor, there may be a lot more mechanical advance in the distributor than 20-22 which is what you would need. Check it with a dial back timing light. I had to modify mine to get 14 degrees initial and 34 total timing.
