Hey guys what should be the casting date, on my block? It is a 69 CUDA package fastback.

Well you know one thing. In addition to 69 having part of the vin stamped into the block, the block to be date correct must be cast prior to the build date of the car. I have most often seen the date ranging from about a month prior as far out as 4 or 5 months. I think sometimes chrysler would use blocks that were readily available and sometimes they would lay around for a little while before going into the cars. Please others chime in. Is this what you have heard?

Hey Carl, I heard same thing, but possibly going back as far as 6 months for the build date on the engine. But like you said for 69 the vin on the block(pass side, on the oil pan rail close to the motor mount) should match last eight digits of vehicle vin.

I dont have the original block, but I want to find something close. my cars vin says it was the 270,000 car or so down the hamtrack line for 69. Can anyone tell what month that was or even the year late 68 or early 69?
