We recently installed Edelbrock E Street heads and Mancini roller rockers on our 71 383. The rockers were set to .025 side clearance as recommended and zero lash plus half a turn. We have adjusted the lash 3 times and still have lifter noise. Is it possible the spring pressure on the new heads is causing the lifters to bleed off? We are running a Comp Cams 268H, hydraulic flat tappet lifters (I don't remember the brand, not Comp). The engine carries 60psi cold and 40psi hot oil pressure. I don't believe we have wiped a cam lobe but don't want to either. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Check the pushrod to head clearance where they come up through the heads VERY closely. They might be contacting the heads. Pretty common issue with some of them.

The springs on the E streets should be fine with that cam.

Might be worth popping a cover off and watching the rockers while it’s running to see if they might be sliding back and forth on the shaft and contacting each other....... and that’s what you’re hearing.
