400 HP - 318 Build-up

-
Something I allways wanted to copy, just for copy sake. (Yea right, were talking foot stompin fun here jack!) Just to see if it really makes 400+ HP

It should idle very well considering the cam is a Comp Cam 280* advertised degree cam. (230 @ .050) It'll make some real good power between 2,000 - 6,000 rpm's. Use a stall conveter to comploment the cam and cars weight with a single plane uaseage in mind.

WOW ! I know 400hp /400lbft with these heads and intake on a 360 is cake, but on a 318...holly cow....humm ive got an internaly balanced, low rotating weight zero deck 366 in the garadge.I wonder what this combo would make on that short block. 450 horse street small block??

The early Comp 268/280/292 grinds, work well. Yes,there are better. I have used these, and they work.

Mike, it's a 6 year old thread so you would have to go back that far in the Comp archives.
