I currently have a stroked 400 in my dart, and I am wanting to start slowly getting together parts for a more radical build, maybe up around the 750 HP range, I am wondering, what is the better foundation for a new build. Should I do another 400, or should I "upgrade" to a 440? I'm not in a hurry because my current 499 is running just fine, but I'm going to slowly get the parts together, and I wanted opinions on what the best of the two options is.

Dont believe we have. My name is Mark Staton I run Bradenton and Lakeland quite a bit, so you may have seen me at the track with the car in my avitar.

I would stroke the 400...shorter deck allows for lighter piston and 400 has larger bore to begin with.

I ran at lakeland alot with my 67 SG Barracuda till about 5 years ago.

I don't remember seeing your car, but I have only been racing about 2 years. Do you know Larry Mayes from Haines City, he had a purple Duster with a big wedge that he used to run at Lakeland.
