42rh/42re trans identification

looking at a 94 Ram with a 3.9 v6 auto. How do you tell if its a 42rh or a 42re trans.

I believe the RH has a 3 pin connector (OD and lockup) where the RE has "many" (8?)

This is addition to the "same old" neutral/ reverse switch.

RH means "Hydraulic", RE means "electronic"

From what I have read yes. Are you wondering if the trans has been replaced?

Was that just with the 42 series? With the 46 series they didn't change them till 95

From what I can find that seems to be the case. 46re looks like 94 or 95.
