440 distributor gear wear is it ok?

Looks like something got picked up and scored a path on the distro gear. Im replacing the cam should I replace the distro gear?

id run it but we all got different cash flow.

my thought is that dizzy gear will just hold more oil. think full grove main bearing. cam shaft is new so, that little.nic aint ****. lr 4.88 rear gear, you anint running on one tooth, that little scratch is distributed across a lot of gear.

if you can afford it replace it with a real dizzy or just run that sucker....
 
No, that's not worn in. It was made when it was produced. I've seen them with it before. It's not a problem.
 
You should run a collar on the distributor shaft to limit the up and down motion of the intermediate shaft. It halps significantly with gear wear especially if you have to run a bronze gear. It will also help stabilize your timing too.
