as of right now im using a 187 factory oil pan in my duster. what aftermarket oil pans can be used on a 440 a body ? im just a little concerned taking my engine up to 6000 with the 5 qt pan. i did weld in some baffles and i use a windage tray aswell. but id feel a little better with a bigger pan. what are my options ?

I went with this

Windage tray

Oil Pickup

I have installed them, everything works great......however. Everything needed minor fitting.......not a big deal but a pain in the ***. I expect a certain amount of cutting and hammering from certain aftermarket car parts but come on.......the pan is for an F'ing 440, and the F'ing holes didnt line up on the oil pan or the windage tray. Then there was too many threads on the pickup, I had to cut half of them off (too many threads meant that it bottomed out on the oil pan and would not allow the oil pan to seat/bolt to block).

Really iritating to say the least, but if you know it before hand its not a big deal at all. I also had to grind both pan and windage tray to create clearance for dipstick and oil pickup, and drill all bolt holes 1 or 2 sizes larger to align to the holes on the block.

Even though I got really irritated, I would purchase again. If you buy, make sure you fit everything first before putting sealant on everything.

We just bought the same Milodon road race pan and noticed the holes didn't all seem to line up. We might still have problems at the k-member (home-built Direct Connection). The motor mount saddles sit above the side kickouts on the pan. We made 2-3" of clearance, but that may not be enough to be able to pull the motor with the pan attached (or reinstall). With biscuit mounts or a motor plate this would not be an issue. It might also be less of an issue with Schumacher mounts (but there still would be issues). We did our fitment with the engine on a stand.

I did consider (and still am considering) making the motor mount saddles bolt onto the k-member so that two to four bolts can be removed from the underside and both motor mounts and saddles could come out with the motor.

Hey what oil pickup did you use with the 187 pan and more importantly where did you get it. I am fitting mine now and the pickup is too far forward.

if i spent $519+shipping and had to rework all of it that crap, it would be going back. there is absolutely no reason for you to have to rework anything from milodon and especially for the money you spent. their stuff must really be going down hill.
