"I figured it up and over a period of time, this four thousand dollar car of mine, cost fourteen thousand dollars and ninety nine cents!"

".. gas 'n oil 'n fluids 'n grease, wires 'n tires 'n antifreeze.."

Jerry Reed. Unbelievably creative talented American. One of my very favorite musicians.

.

Jerry was definitely one of the best, always had a smile on his face and always lived to hurry up and eat supper so he could get back to pickin.

Definitely an American icon.

He is correct. I was figuring out how much gas I have ran through my PU truck in it's 225K mile life at 15 MPG and I probably paid for the truck twice. Then add in insurance @$900 a year x 11 yrs, oil/filters etc...

We won't even get into the $3500 (in 1968) fish and how much is being poured into it. Gas and the expensive oil...don't even start...

I've got a couple customers who have spent over $10-k in maintenance with me on their vehicles in the past few years.
It adds up quick, not including gasoline.

Chet Atkins bestowed the title of "CERTIFIED GUITAR PLAYER" on Jerry Reed
one of only four people in the world to achieve that honor
