This jeep has seen many changes in the past 4 years that I have owned it. Went from being stock on 31" tires to a small 3.5" lift with 33" tires. Than one winter I tore it all down to do the ultimate build.....that is still costing me money :axe:Gotta love it though haha

Anways, for pics goto my photobucket account : http://s2.photobucket.com/albums/y39/Plato2k5/
Goto my "Sub Albums" and choose Jeep-Re build

Very nice! Don't forget to keep us updated. Looks like you've got a great start!

thanks and will do. Those pics were from 2 years ago. I just need money to finish my engine... haha don't we all!

Humm I remember a yellow challenger sitting in my garage for 2 years while I ( saved money to fix it )

Thanks for not putting a Chevy in it !. Nice start, keep it up.

photoshoped in? heck no ... check out the pics on my photobucket account and you'll see :)

As for a chevy motor... noo. Though the only PLUS you get with a chevy in off-roading is TBI. I think this is why its very popular with jeeps, plus there dime-a-dozen. But I like being different and having somthing sorta one-off

Well I just started putting my engine together yesterday. Here are some pics of the goodies and of the install:

HP116CP Hyp. flat top pistons with 5cc valve reliefs.

Comp Cam & Lifter kit / Cloyse HD double roller timing set / Clevite77 P-series Main & Rod bearings / MOPAR oil pump shaft w/ gear.

After spending time to clean the block and crank, installed the crank and torqued the mains down to check for clearance with plastigauge.

Everything checked out to spec. so added some assembly lube to put the crank in for good.

HOLLY BIG PICS!!!! I'll have to resize after work lol

Nice Jeep protect !!
Keep us posted !!

I like what I am seeing, I can see the wheellies off the line my self.

Havn't been on her for a while :( Been bussy with other stuff. But I do have the jeep running and WOW its fast! Havn't really gunned it off the line yet but stepping into it while rolling in first will throw you back in the seat. Hard shifts to.

So for a little bit of an update. I ditched the crappy TBI setup and went true EFI.

I powdercoated the fuel rails, intake elbow, and the TB which is off a 5.0 mustang.

Last season I ran in to many many many many problems. I cannot say MANY enough! :(

First off I lost reverse. I have been running without a kickdown cable for a while and this is what killed it.Had to pull trans and replace the rear drum and band. figured I would change the engine oil as well since I was down there and it was about time. I found metal chunks in the bottom of the pan. Come to find out the adjustable rocker nut got loose....2 of them to be specific.

This in turned road up on the crank and the piston came down and kissed it causing this.

When I took it out you could hardly move the piston the rod. Good thing I lost reverse or else I would of kept running for 3 or more hours which would of probably caused the wrist pin to seize.

while out at silver lake sand dunes I lost wiped out my cam:

Replaced with a Howards Cam.... sounds much better now ;) Nice chop

At silver lake again I lost reverse.... Once I got it home found that the retainer that holds the reverse/low servo was not strong enough to hold in the bigger pressure spring. It pushed its way around the plate. Put a different spring in and its been good since.

Bought new beadlock rims, just need new tires now

ha ha thanks. Yea I didn't realize it was so long! I did a lot of work since the first post...... built a roll cage, new bucket seats, fuel cell in the rear behind seat, stretched the back 6", comp cut the rear, paint, built a new skid plate/cross member,

Still working on it. Biggest improvment is the EFI. Much better response and more power. I still need to tune it in. I'm always breaking this thing as I do not treat it nice..... but its a toy and its meant to be abused.

Somehow I managed to bend my 31 spline moser shaft to :( No idea how that happened. I just hope my engine and trans failures are over with. I cannot afford to go through all of that again! I think my cam was a result of not doing the adative for the zinc? And always reving it out to 5500 rpm. Then again I have heard a lot of issues with those comp cam extreme energy.

Bought new shoes few weeks ago

39.5x13r15 Interco IROK tires.

I also have on order a vacuum pump for the brakes off of a volvo. My vac at idle is a nice solid 10.

I also have a 9" rear truss that came in UPS yesterday. When the weather clears up I'm going to pull the rear and start welding it up.

Here are some pics from various outings.

Got in a little bit of mud......
