I'm looking at a flexplate for the 5.9L Magnum that I'm building. Basically the only Magnum parts on it are the crank, rods, lifters, heads, and dampner. The rest are LA parts.

So I'm looking into purchasing a flexplate. I have no idea which transmission I'm going to run, but it will be either a 727 or a 904. My current 904 is a no-go because it's mated to a slant.

Anyway, I searched Summit, and I came up with this:

http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=BMM-10242&view=32&N=700+115

It says it's for a 727, but is that all it will work with? Can I run it with a 904?

Any information appreciated!

I'm not positive but I think the torque converter bolt pattern is a differrent size for a 727 vs. a 904 so that's possible why it says for 727 only.

You really need to decide which trans. your going to run then look for parts for that particular one.

Did you use the magnum pistons or the LA ones? If you mixed the LA pistons with the rest of the rotating assy from a magnum you are going to have a balance problem unless you have had it professionally balanced since the magnum pistons are lighter than the LA pistons.

As for the flex plate. MP has a magnum flex plate that has the balance weights on it so you can use a neutral balanced converter with the magnum. You will have to redrill one hole if its going to be used with a 904 tranny since they are not symetrical.
