587j then 587-8???

Yes i have 2 sets of heads, one the casting number ends in 587J and has a huge J cast in it and the others have 587-8 casting. I was wondering if i use eith one of these stock castings which is best???

O-U-Z-J, Doesnt matter, They are all the same. Even the X heads are the same other then Valve size.

Casting dependent as well as any core shift present or not, the heads flow in the 180 to 190 cfm area with the 1.88 intake valve. approx. 190 to 210 with 2.02's.

I do realize this is a large variance in numbers and only peak, but a good prep job and valve work will do well for the heads and power production without porting.
