Hi...Do the 73 and up 6 banger A-bodys have discs? And if so, are they ok to use on a V8 car.Right now my 72 Dart was a 6 banger but is now a V8, and im thinking down the road swapping out to disc.I also know where a 6 banger scamp is,bodys pretty rusted, but im thinking of checking if its disc or not and how cheap he'll let it go for....Thanks,DAN

Those years could have had either disc or drum, but you could get discs with a slant six. If it did have discs they'd be the same as what would have been used on a V8 car.

Also note that if it is discs it'll have the large bolt pattern, but the drum cars kept the small bolt pattern.

72 and older, small bolt pattern, fixed caliper. 73 and newer, big bolt pattern, floating/sliding caliper. If using the big brakes, you'll need a 73 and newer upper control arm to accomodate the larger ball joint required by the spindle. Originally 72 & older had left-hand threaded bolts on driver's side. Since most tire monkeys broke them off, many owners swapped them out for righties. The stud will have LH stamped in them. If not stamped LH, it uses regular right-handed threads.
