6 volt battery cable guage?9

I need to put new battery cables in a 6 volt car. When I look online, I see 4 and 2 guage cables.

I know 6 volt cables are thicker, but I don’t know what guage. Anyone know?

I have read on an older Chevy site that 2/0 (00) or 4/0 (0000) gage was used on 6 volt Chevys. www.batterycablesusa.com makes them to size.

I firmly believe in overkill with a six volt system (I have four cars that use them). AT LEAST the 2 gauge.

The OEM ones were never that large except maybe heavy trucks. I always thought they were simply 1 gauge.

Some of the "modern" so called "parts stores" don't even carry those
