Anyone know what the differences are between the 63-66 sending unit vs the 67 and up?

Year one lists separate units but there is a guy on ebay selling one unit for all years. I'm not sure what the differences are and I'm wary of ordering the unit on ebay only to find it won't fit the 66.

It's more than half price on ebay vs YO though so it'd be nice if that unit would work.

Thanks guys.

ive been looking at those also. only diff i can think of is resistance in the windings affecting the fuel gage. or different voltage. didnt 67 & later use a voltage reducer?

All senders produce the same resistance range of 2 -> 10 ohms.
The difference in fuel senders is due to the difference in tank shape. Somone may have discovered the later sender will work in the earlier tank, like trying on a pair of jeans.
Anyway, the wrong sender will either set pick up screen above the bottom of the tank, show empty at gauge, pick up air , though there is 2 or gallons still in there. which is fine. The wrong sender will bottom in the tank and not mount/seal properly.
And all these systems have a gauge voltage regulator locatedsomewhere.
