Dne, Does the radiator overflow? What pressure is the cap? Have you considered using a coolant overflow tank? You can monitor the coolant level if the overflow tank is transparent.

Hi, and Good morning;)
I'm in the mode of waiting for parts and other things. Glen, the Turkey dinner was fabulous of course and wonderful having the kids/grandkids over.

So, here's where I stand on the cooling system. Installed the new water pump~ no big deal on it, the new high flo thermostat got here, but didn't come with a gasket(a gasket in transit), I'm pretty much dealing with a clearance issue between the radiator and crankshaft bolt. I needed a 1 3/8 fan spacer, but I couldn't find one, but found a 1 7/16 spacer original mopar, but put the fan too close to the radiator, I mean it would have worked, but I'd have to pull the radiator to change a belt, so I ordered a 1 1/4" spacer(not here yet). It's just the blades on the new fan are so deep for lack of better description. Then since using the Bronco radiator, just waiting on a hose, then need to order the correct length pipe as I can't find a radiator hose to fit perfectly. So it's just kind of hurry up and wait :lol:

Richard Sweet::thankyou:

It never had overflowed even at 220 degrees, hm as for the cap pressure, I don't know offhand. Im considering a coolant overflow tank in the near future and believe that will be beneficial;)

It's not much fun out in the shop as it's just downright cold n wet, plus I could strangle my mini-Aussie. She senses thunder/storms well before we do, when so, she jumps up on the bed and likes to get on top of my head or between my head and the wall for some reason and last night the whatever storm lasted for hours, so I'm beat!

That's about it for now, heading to Dallas this weekend for a 2 y/0 grandaughter birthday party. Hope to have some good news to report early next week

:thumbsup:

This spacer allowed the fan to touch the crank bolt, not every blade and maybe I could have tweeked each blade, but really don't want to do that.

If not mistaken, a big block AC car uses a larger crank pulley, and a smaller WP pulley, to increase rpms, I never have used a flex fan, but I has seen the guys mention needing a heavy flex fan not the light ones, which can go "sideways" into the rad, due the higher revs at "speed". But, this is a SLANT!
