64 1 barrel carter rebuld kit

Where can I get a rebuld kit for a 64 valiant with a carter 1 barrel carb with a push button auto trany with a slant six? Can you use another 1 barrel from a different year and hook it up with some modifications. It has the old rod linkage. Any other years fit? Seems like a dumb question just new to push button trannys and not sure what works with them.

Actually, NAPA should still be able to get a rebuild kit for you I believe. You'll need the numbers from the carb to order.

The only thing I could find for a '64 was a reman carb at NAPA for $209. Their part number is HOL641206 and there is a $12 core charge. They also have a listing for a '66 Carter rebuild kit that should work for you that is $21.49. NAPA part number CRB25500. They also have the float. You can use either a Carter or Holley 1920 from '63-'66 and keep your rod linkage. You can use a later slant one barrel if you switch to a cable throttle setup. You may have to get creative with the kickdown linkage if you go that route though. Hope this helps.
