I know this is going to sound really silly but I will ask:

The rear trunk lid hinges on my 66' Barracuda are a tad loose; like 1/8" movement from side to side.
Every set I pull is the same way regardless of mileage. Is that "normal?
Where do you get pins for them or just make them?

The door hinge sets for my 66' Barracuda - are they the same as the 67-76'
they look the same, they operate the same, but nobody lists 66 hinges and all the 64' and the 65' cars I looked at look the same. What is the deal with that?

Thanks,
Joe

A tad loose? 1/8"? wow! The single trunk support is hard on them, especially the RH one. They are not designed to be rebushed.
I may be able to help you with a set of good used trunk hinges I was keeping for backup. I also have the chrome covers.
Another part in that area that I would be willing to sell is a re-chromed and detailed left side trunk trim piece.
If you want to discuss this stuff, send me a separate conversation.

All '63-'76 A-body door hinges interchange (2-doors use the same hinges as the front doors of 4-door cars). However, they don't all look the same. The '63-'65 hinges look a little different to the '66-76 units. Same bolt pattern/fit/function, though (or lack of function if they're worn, seized rollers, etc).

I've got an upgraded set of hinges in my garage (rebuilt, rebushed with sintered bronze, grease fittings added, etc); if you send me a PM because you want them, that'll mean I have to find them! 8-O

Thank you for the offer but I will have to pass. I have the complete set (all five pieces new in a box for the chrome) and as for the hinge...
I own a welding shop. One of my guys looked at it and wanted to weld up the holes and CNC machine a new holes and fab a new pin on the lathe.
I was just curious if slop was normal and why- Thanks for the answer. Know I know its not normal.

As always Dan- your a wealth of info. I have a brand new set I bought on line years ago but they listed for 67-76 on the box; but when I bought them the salesman told me they would fit my 66'
Over time I lost confidence and need some reassurance.
Thank you,
Joe

I am not sure of the kit number but in the past I have removed the broken pins for members and replaced them. Most that I have seen are worn and sloppy or broken.
