I am going to rebuild the front end on the wagon I recencly purchased. I want to upgrade to front disk brakes. Before I purchase I wanted to get FABO's opinions on what kit should be used. I have been looking at the kit from Mancini. I hav also been thinking about installing the larger torsion bars. I want the car to handle more like a road car that a drag (straight line) car. Thank you all for you input in advance.

Car Facts and future plans
1. Current slant six will upgrade to a 360 with a 904 later
2. Going to do a mini tub and switch to a 8 3/4 narrowed rear end?
3. Interior carpet. Having a hard time finding this.

Do a search on here and you'll find tons of info.

I've got a '63 wagon with '74 Duster discs and upper A-arms, and 1" lowering blocks in the back but otherwise stock. I want to set mine up for handling too and am planning poly bushings in the upper arms and strut rods, boxing plates for the lower arms and stiffer torsion bars. I saw recently a company that is making the bars with zero offset so you can run a lower ride height with the stiffer bars but I forget who it was. On the back I'll flip the spring hangars and run sliders on the back.

I've used ESPO for suspension parts for my wife's Imperial and I was happy with the price and service so I'll probably get a kit from them.

The carpet should be the same as a Valiant sedan I think (unless you're wanting to carpet the luggage area). I would think Trimparts probably make a carpet that would work - I've used their carpets on other cars and they've been decent - maybe not a perfect fit but very reasonably priced.

You could just get an upholstery shop to do the carpet - I had a friend do mine because I've got a later 4 speed trans hump in the car so I'm not sure that a stock carpet would have worked. You could try J's upholstery in Stanton - they work on old cars and seem reasonably priced.

Got any pics of your wagon?

I'm currently running a PST poly graphite kit. Still /6 torsion bars, but I've got the larger ones waiting to go in. Just changing out the bushings helped alot, but I still want to put in a front sway bar. Currently for front brakes I have 73 big bolt pattern disc, with 10 x 2 1/2" rear drums. Car stops great, with a later dual port master. I'm changing out the rear, and it will have 1.25 width x 11.75 disc, with wilwood 4 piston calipers. Up front a kit that uses wilwood calipers with the factory 1 inch thick rotors.

I have a 64 dart i recently upgaded to front discs with a kit from Master Power brakes. it was complete with all hardware even the brake fluid. i also got a set of mopar performance .920 torsion bars and front sway bar from addco. that with the flaming river manual steering box and subframe connectors and it is a total night and day difference. not a comfortable daily driver but thats not what i wanted anyway.
