65 barracuda 273 From the dead

nice black engine bay  :poke:
Yep, Last min. decision and I had it on the shelf. It was over the weekend and I didn't have a compressor or Paint gun (or paint). Yes, I don't regret painting it but I do regret painting that color. It looks good just not Mopar like. Hey, I might paint the car black! LOL

I went factory color, im not a fan of gold but it gets alot of attention.

I think that's same as mine looks good Hope to get mine looking good
Is that the HH1 paint code
I'm not sure about the paint code unfortunately, I just found a non faded section under the dash and matched it up.
I was fortunate enough to still have good paint on the interior and jams to save money. I went with a Maaco paint job for under 2k $ inuding the dent fix. Its a driver and gets alot of use on weekends.

That just proves that gold can look good on Barracudas! I've had five or six 64-65 Barracudas....and at least 4 of them have been gold! The one I have now was baby blue from the factory.....but it won't be when I paint it! I'm torn between the Ice Blue color, or Silver. I may have to flip a coin like I did with my Challenger conv....lol.

I agree. My Dart would look good gold with the black vinyl top back on. I am just not a big fan of the gold/green color mine is originally. Silver is nice as well as a silvery blue.

Both Ice blue or Silver will look great on a 1st gen Barracuda, Im still undecided on a color for my 67.

Silver might be easier to match if you need to do touch ups later. Just a thought.

Actually not. Silver is a ***** to get to match. In fact, if you're painting silver, don't pant the doors a different time that you paint the body. Hang the doors and paint them at the same time.

Good to know, maybe I'll just go with the fender tags ww1. Which is white.

I absolutely LOVE the gold poly on the early A bodies. I think they were made for that color. I would paint mine gold if it didn't have a red interior that I am getting close to being finished with.

That's a decent little stick for a 273. You'll dang sure know it's not stock.

What brand of cam did you get and is it a solid lifter stick. It should make your 273 rumble.
