65 Barracuda carpet

So we are working on the carpet and there is a piece that we are having a problem figuring out where it goes. It's the piece that looks like an L. We figure its goes across the back to hide the trim holes under back glass but the extra has us stumped. Major brain fart.

Trim around floor shifter im thinking. If your car is a dash control than i would see why you are confuzzled.
