65 Barracuda Factory Stripe Colors

I am on the verge of completing the purchase of a 1965 273 commando 4spd Barracuda. The car was factory EE1 Dark Blue Poly.

I would love to add a set of racing stripes to the vehicle during my restoration, but am having a hard time identifying what worth factory colors offered for the stripes.

In the 65 sales brochure it mentions 5 colors but doesn’t specify what the colors are.

I know for sure black, white, and gold are options. Just not sure about the other 2. Possibly a blue. I was curious of silver was a factory option.

This is a 1966 but with EE1 white stripes are the way to go. This car has kind of a budget restoration but it’s mostly original parts and pretty sure white stripes were originally on this car

There’s been a few 1966 EE1 cars that have come on the market the last year or two. The ones I’ve seen have all been the same color scheme - EE1 paint with the PB4 dark blue vinyl interior and white stripes.

The car I am looking at is EE1 with black interior. The fendertag doesn’t call out a stripe but I’m kinda leaning towards adding a white stripe such as if the dealer added one.

Available stripe colors with base colors are ont he right side of the order document below. For an EE1 Dark Blue Metallic paint car the only available factory Stripe color is Medium BLue DD1.

Dealer installed stripes probably were available in additional colors and color combos.

Great information! I’ve never seen a dark blue EE1 car with Medium blue DD1 stripes.

I found this image from an original sales brochure that looks to be the dark blue with lighter blue stripe. It’s the only image I can seem to find of what the two tone blue would look like.

Since many times the dealers put on the stripes they would probably paint them “Any Colour You Like” LOL

Am I right thinking the stripes were all painted on, and that these days if you want a vinyl kit, you still have to paint the hood striping because of the ridge ?
