65 Barracuda Gasser + 1956 325 Dodge Hemi Build

-
Great stuff Chip! I can't wait to see the finished pics of the 'Cuda, and hopefully a video with some of those sweet Hemi exhaust notes.

As far as turning video into a link like you asked about, it's as easy as making a youtube.com account. By default I think youtube limits video uploads to 10 minutes, other than that I don't know that they limit anything else. Well, I guess copyrighted material, but I don't think your awesome 'Cuda gasser is going to infringe on anything.

Chip, great to get the updates and you sure have a great attitude through all of the set backs. I love that you are "making lemonade." You guys sure do great work and sure looks like a real team effort. That is fantastic. Just here, waiting for more.

MAN I LOVE THIS BUILD! :)

Thanks so much for the notes guys and the info on the video stuff. Going to try that for sure.
Today was a banner day and the Cuda started with the first turn of the key. Rob set the timing and we ran her for about 10 minutes. Let it cool down and did it again before we pulled a valve cover to check oiling patterns. We had a good amount of oil all over, so we are happy about the mods and rebuild. We were also able to add a mechanical cooling fan and I changed the fuel lines. The fattened up center carb seems to be helping a lot in the tuning dept. Rob wants to take the jets up a size in the end carbs too, so we'll probably do that. And we must throw the master cylinder back on and bleed the brakes.
Hopefully we'll get her home tomorrow and I can finish up the small stuff. I have newly reupholstered seats to go in and some really neat looking black glass headlights to install. I plan on adding coil-overs in the back too but all this is light work compared to what has just been done.
The car sounds awesome and I will definitely do a video to post with a walk around.
More pictures from today's start up. Hope you enjoy them. Chip

Did some more good work today to get her to the point I could take her home.
We put on the master cylinder and got the brakes bled. Took off the front and back carbs and opened up the jets. Fired her up and she likes the richer fuel mixture! Realized that we are working with gas that is 1 1/2 years old too. So things will really get better as we freshen everything up.
Some of the pics from today....and you will notice the fine drivers seat for moving the car to the trailer! It fit Rob perfectly!!!! Not!
And yes indeed fixing the fan and a bunch of little things need attention. Its all good!
Enjoy......

Too funny 67Dart273!! I'm still laughing.
Well I got the seats in today and a couple of friends stopped by to help me get the hood on. Man did I ever need their help!
The hood would not clear the front carb, so we did a little driveway surgery and ta da it closes great now. That is good friend Herb wielding the cutting wheel and the pictures are of his sweet 32 Ford street rod.
Made its maiden voyage today into the local car wash. I told the wife I wouldn't be long and an hour and half later I was back home. MAN this car is a magnet!! One guy even stopped to see it while I had the power washer going!
Awesome............

Hi All, it has been awhile since I last posted and brought you up to speed on the Barracuda.
I have been putting some more good miles on her and as promised I have finally figured out how to post the "walk-around" video of the car.
If you ever are in SE Michigan and see me and the car please stop by and say hi.
As always thanks to all for your prayers (they are working!) and following the build.
Hope to see you on the street!

Love it, and if I am, you can bet I will. :)

It is always a sad day when you have to admit its time to put the car away for winter storage (Michigan). Well I have stumbled on a great group of security specialist that have promised me my Barracuda will be there in the spring. I asked them to pose with the car before the door was closed and the lights turned off...........
What do you think?
Happy Halloween everyone!
Best, Chip

fstfsh66, that is a sweet gas pedal. I actually have a couple of those. When I started teaching 20+ years ago we had a foundry and did a lot of aluminum casting. It was pretty neat (for me) and the kids.
It is pretty sad that most of those (shop) environments in public schools have gone the way of the Do-Do bird.
I taught machine trades for most of my career and my last two years was spent in woodshop........why? Because they sold off my shop's $300,000 worth of machines (got about $40,000) and put a wrestling room in its place. Sad, so sad!
It is ok........I'm over it-----not!
