Hi all,
Happy New Year! I'm in Irvine CA and I've owned my Barracuda for 40 years.
My baby is a 1965 Barracuda with a 273 Comando and a Hurst 4 speed. I'm just finishing up the interior.
Anybody know a good way to install armrests when you can't find the original screw holes under the door panels. I don't know where they went but I am sick fishing for them...Would self tapping screws work? Thank you.

To properly locate the arm rests so would use the original holes.
With the vinyl door panel off they are located just aft of the inside door handle.
If you have the original vinyl door panel that could be used as a guide to find the screw holes in the metal inner door.

do the new door panels have the holes in them? the screw must line up with a clip in your door, are they still present? It is just a bent spring that snaps in place to secure the armrests.
any pics of your obstacle? you don't want to self tap your pride & joy-- use the factory hole & it will be a better fit& function. Lawrence

Remember too that the screws don't go straight in, but go in at an angle that points the tip of the screw up! Putting the screw into the armrest base and push it up against the mounting block and observe the angle of the screw with the head seated against the block! It's quite an angle!! Geof

Just drop by my house and look at mine, stock door panel 65 'S' and Ill even take a armrest off for you. Im about 5 miles up the I-5 @ Newport Ave.
